MYNEO THERAPEUTICS

A little history

myNEO was founded in 2018 by leading biotech entrepreneurs combining expertise from different academic institutions. Cedric Bogaert, Jan Van Den Berghe, and Wim van Criekinge have since then expanded the team with established domain in antigen discovery experts as well as ambitious talent to further grow the company's innovation and developments.

myNEO offices

To date, myNEO has achieved several pivotal milestones in realizing its vision. These include:

  • Development of state-of-the-art antigen prediction algorithms
  • Discovery of novel, dark antigen targets called camyotopes
  • (Co-)development of novel immunotherapeutics products via strategic collaborations or in-house, leading to 3 separate programs executing successful IND/CTA filings in 2025
  • The publication of high-impact scientific papers
  • ISO and regulatory approval for clinical use of technology
  • Securing valuable intellectual property with multiple patents
  • Receiving several prestigious awards (Most Disruptive Innovator, Forbes 30under30, Rising Star Fast50)

Marie Van Hecke PhD

Junior bioinformatician

Marie studied Computer Science Engineering and obtained a Master's degree in Bioinformatics at Ghent University. She then completed a PhD in Prof. Kathleen Marchal's lab at Ghent University, where she developed computational methods to study alternative splicing at single-cell resolution.

At myNEO, Marie's deep expertise in software optimization and statistical inference has been central to several key products. She spearheaded the development of the proprietary myRNA software suite, enabling exploration of hundreds of thousands of possible RNA sequences to find the optimal one combining efficient translation and stable conformation. Her experience with scRNAseq was also crucial to integrating large single-cell databases into the mySURFACE platform, allowing users to investigate co-expression of target markers at the cellular level.
